Book & Media Donation in the Metro Phoenix Area

It’s easy to donate books in the Phoenix area. One organization, VNSA, has three convenient options:

  • in-person donation Monday through Thursday, 8-11am at 2336 E Mulberry Dr, Phoenix 85016

  • drop-boxes throughout the Valley (list of addresses + map)

  • home/business donation pickup

For a home or business pick-up, call 602-265-6805 and leave a message. A volunteer will respond within 48 hours to schedule a time with you.

The VNSA (Volunteer Nonprofit Service Association) holds a yearly GIANT book sale at the Arizona State Fairgrounds each February. The proceeds from the sale benefit three organizations: The Literacy Volunteers of Maricopa County, Phoenix Conservatory of Music, and DUET - Partners in Aging & Health.

Per the VNSA website, these are the types of items accepted.

  • paperback & hardback books,

  • DVDs, CDs, and vinyl records,

  • audiobooks,

  • maps,

  • jigsaw puzzles and games,

  • encyclopedias printed in the last 15 years and those printed before 1950.

Secure Paper Shredding

Over the years, I’ve referred many clients to Pro-Shred and they have been wonderful. If you would like a company to come to your home, reach out to them at 480-771-7247 or visit them online at proshred.com/greater-phoenix.

Junk/Trash Haulers

Sometimes the pile of trash and recycling is so overwhelming, it cannot be dealt with using your own trash and recycling bins. If this is the case, I recommend Four Peaks Junk Removal. They are quick to give a quote and it’s easy to text them a picture of your pile so they know how much they will be hauling. Reach Four Peaks Junk at 480-370-0393 or fourpeaksjunk.com.

In a separation, my two children and I went from 6,500 sq ft to 1,900. Needless to say I had WAY too much stuff to live comfortably or peacefully in our new home. We created a plan together that worked best for ME. She understands that life does not pause for you to tidy your home.

Over the course of a few months, Amber helped my 13-year-old daughter organize her bedroom and bathroom. Thank you, Amber, for your patience and support, and for guiding our daughter on this journey.
